More formal options exist as well, including two main dining rooms (both serving the same thing each night). Carnival historically has done a good job of offering accessible favorites as well as more exotic options (think alligator, for example). We enjoyed our dinners here, especially the gala dinner, which included steak and lobster tail. Guests staying in one of the 98 Havana Cabana rooms get a variety of private perks, including a small pool, a sundeck, patios and outdoor bar.

Our First Sea Day on Carnival Jubilee

The propulsion system is based on two Azimuting thrusters with combined power output 37 MW. The ship has 3x LNG tanks (cryogenic steel) with total capacity ~3200 m3. Two of the tanks are larger (length 35 m / 115 ft, diameter 8 m / 26 ft, gas capacity 1525 m3), while the 3rd tank has length 28 m (92 ft), diameter 5 m (16 ft) and gas capacity 520 m3. The vessel's bunkering takes ~8 hours and her LNG capacity is enough for ~14 days of operation (navigation and onboard electricity production). During their inaugural seasons, Jubilee's sisterships were homeported in Florida's Port Canaveral (Mardi Gras/2021) and Miami (Celebration/2022). Follows the complete list of Carnival Jubilee lounges, clubs and other entertainment venues for kids, teens, and adults.

Sports Deck

The virtual queue did work better this evening, but we were sat in a different section of the Pacific Dining Room. If you cruise with Carnival, this is where your ship will dock in Roatan. It’s a private port area of sorts similar to Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic. Here, you’ll find a beach, restaurants and bars, shops, watersports, and cabanas. Guests can also book shore excursions that venture beyond the port area.

Passengers who wish to avoid dressing up can enjoy dinner in any of the casual eateries aboard. Carnival Jubilee does not have a specific daytime dress code, and people dress casually. If it's a sea day in a warm-weather destination, and you're bound for the top deck, T-shirts, shorts and bathing suits (with a cover-up to go inside) are just fine.

Kids Club on Carnival Jubilee: Camp Ocean

Kids and adults who aren't afraid of heights will enjoy the top-deck ropes course, which offers two options for different levels of skill and bravery. The Bolt roller coaster, a minigolf course and a basketball court are also found in the SportSquare area within the Ultimate Playground zone. The menu has several types of meat — including steak, of course, as well as lamb chops and chicken — and seafood items like fish and lobster tail. I went with a 9-ounce filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection. It came alongside several sauces and sides of broccoli and crinkle-cut fries for $49 ($15 for kids). Dinner reservations are recommended for many eateries, even the main dining rooms.

The first five times, I simply said, "No, thanks." After the sixth time, I had enough and told them nicely but firmly to stop asking me. I found the high-pressure sales tactics excessive and irritating when all I wanted to do was eat my meal in peace. Combining noise with the annoyance of hawking alcohol, the roving waiters visited every table at Chibang! — the ship's hybrid Mexican-Asian restaurant — one night while I was having dinner there.

Inaugural Announced and Carnival Jubilee Opens for Sale

Even though some of the restaurants weren't open, waiters were in their uniforms to do dry runs of evening dinner service. The retail workers ripped open box after box of inventory and, over the course of just 48 hours, stocked all of the shelves in the onboard shops. The kids club staff mobilized to organize the ship's multiple activity spaces. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there, and they all welcomed each other with smiles. The excitement was palpable, which bodes well for passengers since the crew is prepared and the ship is ready.

He said this was a highlight of the cruise for him as it was something fun and different. With less crowds onboard, we were able to secure much of the remaining photos and videos that we needed. So, that left the rest of the day for lots of food and some drinks. Out of dinner just in time, we scooted over to the Limelight Lounge for the 8 PM comedy show with DJ Cooch.

Although some of Carnival's nighttime song-and-dance theater shows can feel a bit dated, cheesy and lackluster, that isn't the case on Carnival Jubilee. At set times, you can head up one deck — via a staircase with a glittering blue wall that evokes the ocean, offset by a suspended school of swimming fish — to a kiosk that allows you to change the location. Conflicting styles that worked surprisingly well together were a theme that kept repeating on board. Carnival Jubilee is, after all, a throwback ship, designed to pay homage to some of the fleet's original vessels. It seems fitting it would meld elements from previous decades with a more modern flare.

With no buyers, Henna met the sad fate so many other ships met during the pandemic making her way to Alang, India in 2017 for scrapping. By the end of 2017, the ship originally launched as MS Jubilee was no more. In December of 2011, P&O announced that Pacific Sun would leave the fleet and on September 13, 2012, she joined HNA cruises as Henna, making her latest maiden voyage on January 26, 2013. By this point in her life, her capacity had increased to nearly 2,000 passengers.

The zone also features the Marina Bar, designed with nautical inspiration and comfortable lounge seating inside or outside by the sea. Carnival dubs its vessels “fun ships”, and we can attest that everyone onboard was having a great time. From the parties, to the competitions, to the various other activities, these events were well attended and for good reason.

The elevator situation on Jubilee definitely lacks in comparison to other cruise lines. For a ship with this guest capacity, the elevators are quite small. Besides disembarkation morning, there were several other times that we waited multiple passes to find an elevator that had enough room for the two of us.
