They truly care about the health and well being of their residents. My Grandmother is a new resident here and I couldn’t be more pleased. No matter what time of day I visit she is dressed and very well taken care of. They call me all the time to keep me updated and it’s so appreciated. It needs to be updated and is in the process. They have a new administrator that is really on the ball and is passionate about her job and the home.
Medicare assigns a rating based on health inspections, staffing and quality measures. I have known several people who have been residents at Hillcrest, some short term, some long term. When I have visited the facility, it has always a pleasant experience. The facility is always clean, well staffed and clearly well-run. The patients that I have visited have been well pleased with the care and attention they have received.

They are very compassionate and listen to my concerns. Some of the CNA’s are really good, some others, not so much. You have options though if you don’t like what is being served. I would like to see more interaction like the dining open so the residents can see other people.
They were rebuilding the entire interior of the facility and had to be commended for putting in that kind of investment. Management appears to be dedicated to their mission but that dedication doesn’t spread down the line, at least not consistently. They were decent and weren’t large, but that’s not their fault since they bought an existing facility. The food was decent, but the portions were abysmally small. My mom was in Hillcrest Raleigh at Crabtree Valley for about a month for rehab. It was during COVID, so I can only visit with her outside.

They had a number that I could call to set up a visitation appointment with mom, so it was good. The place was well kept, clean, and lovely. It was a very nice, well-maintained gazebo and patio. It was near a hospital, restaurants, and Crabtree Valley mall. They ended at 8, and my husband didn't get off in time to come and see me most days. I have two complaints/observations to share in this note. 1) I am a recent back surgery patient and was denied rehab access at nearby public facilities apparently due to my ability to walk “too far”. This judgement was made despite my inability to climb up or downstairs, get into and out of bed, or to use the toilet all w/out assistance. When my husband tried to document these and other deplorable conditions existing outside my assigned double room the staff was upset and he was asked not to photograph outside my room. In addition, the attitude of the staff was surly and intimidating.
